Aug 11, 2006 · With all the 3ware posts I read through throwing in their 2 cents, the pot must be up to 30 bucks. Well here is mine… After researching and finding a unanimous VMware ESX doesn’t support 3ware RAID controllers I will not be deploying VMware.

Sep 02, 2010 · The 9750's use the tws driver, which isn't in the FreeBSD source tree yet. But you can download it from the 3Ware/LSI Logic web site. The normal 3Ware management tools in the FreeBSD ports collection (3dm2 and tw_cli) should work just fine, though some features new to the 9750 may not be supported in the versions currently in the ports tree.

May 05, 2016 · The 3Ware 9000 series also doesn't officially support JBOD passthrough, so it's very likely that your drives have been configured as a bunch of single-disk RAID0s, which means they have 3Ware RAID headers on them and won't be importable to a regular HBA.

The 3ware controller I linked seems to support JBOD out of the box so I don't think you'll have to do anything to the firmware to use it with ZFS.
