It will only fire after the radio button is clicked and then another click is registered anywhere else on the page. So, it requires 2 clicks - 1 to change the radio input, and 1 more on the background to fire the event. This does not happen with Firefox 2, which correctly only requires 1 click (the one that changes (selects) the radio button).

Welcome to the JavaRanch, Roopa! There's a "Code" button on the message editor. Use that to wrap preformatted text such as Java code and XML and people will be able to read it better.
