Nov 14, 2009 · I have been playing mkv movies using bsplayer + ac3filter for a long time, connected to a usb card Sound Blaster X-Fi 5.1 (It was really hard to make it work) Two days ago, I update my bsplayer to 2.41 and ac3filter to 1.61b, and now, when i play a movie, and go to the ac3filter config, the option use spdif is disabled. (before i used passthrough).

If your sound card does not support SPDIF, it can choose PCM and work properly when AC3Filter is used. In addition, if a movie contains sound track that cannot be SPDIF'ed on current sound card (for example 44100Hz track), AC3Filter will switch to PCM playback automatically.

Apr 03, 2007 · So after reading some of the posts on it, I decided to install the latest AC3Filter, tweak all the settings I could find to output to SPDIF in the configuration for it, and copied the updated file over to the Sage directory. Well everything worked fine except AVI playback in Sage, there was no audio output. The files played fine in WMP.
