Dec 28, 2010 · I just got a new motherboard, processor and ram for christmas. I have two IDE drives and on the motherboard there is only SATA hookups. I purchased an Adaptec ASH-1233 ATA adapter card. When installed, the computer posts, shows adaptec screen with IDE drives on it. The computer then proceeds to try to run windows. The computer then shuts restarts.
