Nov 11, 2010 · I tried to upgrade a Wolfdale E5200 CPU (45 nm), but the system doesn't boot up - it doesn't even do the initial BIOS initialization beep. As the VID range of the E6300 is 0.85V – 1.5V and the E5200 one 0.85V – 1.3625V, I don't see voltage issues and fear that the BIOS prevents the system start. Is it possible to add E5200 support to that BIOS?

Sep 20, 2009 · The CPU isn't supported by the new BIOS for whatever reason but it used to work. I am not familiar with modding a BIOS but if somebody could add the CPU to the BIOS. I have gotten as far as extracting sp40910.exe and then extracting the winflash.exe from the sp40910.exe contents.

b) /cpucode is used mainly to add support for a new CPU with a new cpu microcode (not an update) without touching to the uncompressed NCPUCODE.BIN of the Bios, instead it will create a second NCPUCODE.BIN in the bios but this one will be compressed (Just like a .ROM module) So yes, the Bios will have to read 2 files to get all the microcodes...

Jun 07, 2014 · Desktop LGA 771 and LGA 775 microcode. If you're trying to add LGA 771 Xeon support to an LGA 775 motherboard, this is the recommended file to download. It will allow you to not only add the LGA 771 Xeon microcode to your BIOS, but you can also update your processor's similar LGA 775 microcode (which is probably a good idea).

Feb 14, 2011 · It is also very difficult to modify a BIOS to add or change anything significant such as CPU tables. It's not even remotely as simple as adding a SLIC/SLP header in the BIOS! Each BIOS is built differently, therefore no generic tool or methodology will work in modifying them for stuff like this.
