A minimum of six years of usage and fix support will be available to clients under the standard SWMA. Following that period, three years of extended support will be available under an optional, separately priced service extension.

Yes, 5.3 is the end of the AIX 5.X line. You have heard of AIX 6.1 right? I don't have a link for you but my tech support person says 5.3 is EOS 4/2011 and EOL 4/2012. The dates were recently pushed out which is great since I'm still waiting on some 3rd party stuff before we can roll 6.1 everywhere.
