    IBM made a new announcement regarding TL/SP lifecycle support of AIX on Feb 25th 2014. The key point is that AIX 6.1 TL7 and AIX 7.1 TL1 reach end-of-support effective 31st Oct 2014. The basic support policy for AIX is that they are supported "for the life" of the release.
