@LHH - no actually, the issue was simply not specifying the pg gem version that active record needed. gem 'pg' defaults to the latest 1.0.0 which is not compatible with the active record version that comes with rails 5.1.4.

Jul 14, 2013 · I was able to run bundle clean --force to remove all gems not in use in the context of the current gemfile. This of course is just a temporary fix until some other application (using the same version of Ruby as the repo which is having trouble running Zeus) installs some other incompatible gem.
