May 07, 2007 · Just had a very interesting meeting and update from IBM on there hardware. IBM sells both Intel and AMD but... AMD: after 4 dimms memory bus slows down from 667 to 533 mhz (for all dimms), IBM fixed to have all 8 dimms run at 667mhz. memory controller is built into the CPU chip and not accessible externally like with the intel chips.
