ECC Memory & AMD’s Ryzen – A Deep Dive Hardware Canucks

    https://hardwarecanucks.com/cpu-motherboard/ecc-memory-amds-ryzen-deep-dive/
It all started when leaks and then online product pages for AM4 motherboards appeared, since their specifications lists showed support for both ECC and non-ECC DDR4 memory. The reason that ECC is much more popular among AMD consumers is that it’s a feature that the company has never blocked. While Intel artificially limits ECC support to pricey Xeon processors or low-end Pentium models …

AMD confirms that Ryzen supports ECC memory OC3D News

In simple terms, this means that AMD's Ryzen CPUs have full support for ECC memory, but AMD does not want to officially provide any QA or official support for ECC on their consumer platforms. Instead of simply disabling ECC support altogether, AMD has instead opted to allow motherboards to support the standard as they see fit, allowing consumers to take full advantage of ECC memory when using a compatible motherboard.

This motherboard is capable of supporting DDR4 ECC un-buffered memory modules that delivers server-grade performance and rock-solid durability for high-end computing systems, such as scientific or …

Ryzen Motherboard that supports DDR4 ECC [H]ardForum

    https://hardforum.com/threads/ryzen-motherboard-that-supports-ddr4-ecc.1971648/
Nov 25, 2019 · Asrock and Asus support ECC on all AM4 boards I believe. MSI doesn't support ECC at all from what I know. Gigabyte only supports ECC on boads with higher layer counts which would include the X470 Gaming 7, and some older boards too like AX370 Gaming 5 and the K7. Some ITX boards might work too. Anyway, it's better to go with Asrock or Asus for ECC.

ECC Memory Support, or ECC Memory Compatable (Non ECC Mode)

The AMD platform supports ECC Including AMD Phenom, FX and the new ryzen. The issue is boards supporting it. Or finding out what boards support it. I have confirmation that Gigabyte and ASRock has 370 Based Ryzen boards supporting ECC.

Sep 08, 2017 · Since the AMD Ryzen memory controller (which is part of the CPU itself) supports it, it was rational for me to go with something that supports ECC memory for the research workstation I am currently working with.

Ryzen/AM4 ECC memory support? Community

    https://community.amd.com/thread/210870
Mar 02, 2017 · The chipset does not have any direct say in ECC support, the memory controller is inside the CPU. All AMD desktop CPUs since the Newcastle Athlon 64, including all Semprons, and all APUs since Trinity have supported ECC as far as I know. (Brazos and Llano didn't.) Just the FM2/FM2+ socket was not ECC capable because it lacked the necessary pins.Reviews: 12
