Aug 02, 2016 · PhysX is the very thing that made me start to really dislike nvidia because even when it works its pure SHIT. Actually when they disabled gpu physx when any AMD card was detected (And i never even owned AMD) was the first straw. I have seen all kinds of cpu based physic that blows away Nvidia proprietary effects anyway.

May 15, 2015 · If you install PhysX when you have a AMD graphics card the calculation is made on the cpu instead as i understand it. I remeber when I had a AMD card and enabled PhysX in games, those games that allowed to enable this setting even if you had a AMD gfx card, the game would run would run horribly slow like Alice: Madness Returns.

Batman: Arkham Origins won't allow you to enable the full advanced level of PhysX with an AMD graphics card present.... for your own good, as mentioned, it will kill your framerate running it on a CPU.

PhysX is a Nvidia technology, so if you use it on an AMD GPU, you probably will find it much laggier and slower (especially on those games where PhysX would be heavy if turned on, like Mirror's Edge and Borderlands 2), I have an AMD GPU and my FPS drops a lot during intense scenes if I turn on PhysX.

Nov 29, 2013 · PhysX supports both CPU and GPU simulation. GPU simulation is only available on Nvidia graphics card irrespective of CPU. Well written application usually check for GPU simulation support and allow for CPU fallback if its not present. I run and develop using AMD hardware, CPU + GPU and have no problem running any of the PhysX module.
