Jan 04, 2013 · Here in Australia the risk of miscarriage due to having an amnio is 1 in 1000. I can’t speak for the rest of the world and nor do I want to. As for the baby being born with a hole in its leg? Please! The needles used are a lot finer than the types used for blood tests or other procedures. I didn’t declare everyone should go get an amnio done.
