Nov 27, 2019 · Hi everyone, I would to know how to apply compression only support in this plate. I think that I should apply compression only in the hole, the force in one of the two directions and in the other I should apply a fixed support or displacement with x=0, y=free and z=free (in 3D case).

Sep 15, 2009 · So to make a compression-only support in MAPDL (sorry, using new names of ANSYS products here), you need to create a copy of the face you want to apply the load to, and mesh it with target elements with the amesh command, and then mesh the flexible body face with the proper contact elements (once again, using amesh).
