Aug 20, 2012 · The fan on my macbook (model identifier 5,1) is running like crazy and I'd like to do a hardware test however, inserting the MacBOok OS X installation Disk 1 wiath AHT Version 3A143 provides a "Hardware Test does not support this machine" message.

Feb 08, 2007 · AHT tells me "Apple Hardware Test does not support this machine." I can't believe this is correct - it is afterall on the install CD for the Mac I'm trying to run it on. The only thing I can figure is that the firmware updates I've dutifully installed have confounded AHT.
