But a few days ago its suddently turning into a noisy racket, I mean really really noisy, unbelievabley noisy. It happens for about the firest 10 minutes after restarting after the imac has been asleep or switched off.

I checked the fan speed and it's around the minimum possible of 1200 rpm. I've been using iMacs in the last 5 years and never experienced such a problem (none of them had ssd).
