    My Aspie (heck even my neuro-typical child) wasn't capable of any kind of real lying at 5 years old. At 5, lying was things like denying taking a cookie or making a mess. My Aspie typically didn't even do this. It's not that she wasn't capable; it just never occured to her to be anything but completely honest.

    I do believe that some 'deliberate thinkers' with aspergers or not will have control over lying and be limited, but I certainly do not support the view that those with aspergers do not lie. The lack of social skills especially at a young age promotes lying and therefore increases the prevelance of this negative behavior.
