Just wanted to provide an update. I have a Poweredge 840 that is running Windows Server 2003. I've done an extensive web and internet search and most sites (including ATI) states that on-board ATI ES1000 chip doesn't support widescreen.

Apr 17, 2015 · It appears that the G6 series was, by and large, a proponent of the ATI ES1000 Graphics chipset. This chipset currently has no driver support within Windows Server 2012 (and may never, for that matter). I've got a problem with my SC440. I use a Dell 198WFP Widescreen. The Integrated Graphics ATI ES1000 doesn't seems to fit the wide 1280*768 resolution, but there are no problem connecting through Terminal Services from another Widescreen Latitude D830 with the same monitor attached.
