Aug 15, 2010 · Hi, I installed 9.04 on a HP t5730 Thin Client. As soon as I'm logged in to the OS I have graphic errors. This Thin Client has a ATI X1250 graphics chip. Therefore I tried to install the ATI driver which I downloaded from the web. But during the installation via the Gnome terminal I'm getting this error:

I ended up having to go back to Ubuntu 8.04 (Heron). It turns out that the Catalyst 9.3 and earlier drivers are not compatible with the new v1.6 release of xorg-xserver used by Jaunty, and my ATI graphics card is no longer supported by the Linux Catalyst drivers as of release 9.4.

Apr 11, 2010 · Error: ./default_policy.sh does not support version default:v2:x86_64:lib::none:2.6.32-ARCH; make sure that the version is being correctly set by --iscurrentdistro. Im using Arch 64bit with GNOME and an "ATI Technologies Inc RV350 AP [Radeon 9600]" and actually using vesa and AIGLX.

AMD Catalyst (fglrx) drivers. The AMD Catalyst (fglrx) drivers are not compatible with Xorg 1.18, which is the version used in Linux Mint 18. These drivers are proprietary and so their code is not available. AMD indicated they no longer wanted to support them and urged their customers to use open-source drivers instead.

The version "8.54.2" was just something I guessed, not really sure if it is right. Now, it might very well be that I've done something wrong here, and I would appreciate any suggestions on how to get this going.
