Mar 17, 2019 · I’d love if NVIDIA were more open regarding documentation (ATI scores more points here) but I have to say I like the company’s attitude towards OpenGL, which I’m not sure I can say about ATI. NVIDIA offers driver support for Linux on x86, AMD-64 and IA-64. Furthermore they support FreeBSD, too. ATI is still struggling with Linux on x86.

The reason is, AMD/ATI doesn't support FreeBSD, and you have to resort to the sucky open source drivers. So instead, I'm using a cheap NVIDIA GeForce 730 under FreeBSD with proprietary NVIDIA drivers.

Nov 30, 2019 · AMD's OpenGL drivers aren't bad exactly it's just that Nvidia's spend more money on it and of course Nvidia fully support all their own OpenGL extentions which a lot of OpenGL games and apps use. AMD have equivalents for many but they're not always supported well by apps.Reviews: 12
