Oct 05, 2012 · I can't advise you "step by step" how to get the sound back because I'm not there and have no way of knowing if your laptop has any hardware issues. What you really need to do is format the hard drive and do a clean reinstall of Windows XP SP3 and get a fresh start with that laptop, but that obviously isn't going to happen.
