When running Image for Windows under BartPE, a hard drive fails to appear. Cause: SATA drivers are not present in the PE environment. Solution: The preferred method to address this issue involves adding SATA drivers to the BartPE disc. To add drivers to the BartPE disc, please refer to the BartPE documentation or help files.

I have been trying to create a BartPE boot image that contains the correct sata driver for AHCI mode on the ION LE based Acer Revo Aspire R1600. I have managed to create a BartPE image that works fine when you switch the bios to Native IDE mode. However I still cannot get one to work in AHCI mode.

Mar 11, 2010 · If you are running your SATA hdd in AHCI Mode and want to create a BartPE with integrated NVIDIA nForce AHCI driver, you have to copy the SATA_IDE subfolder of the appropriate nForce chipset driver package into the drivers\SCSIAdapters subfolder of the PE Builder-location.

After booting, BartPE did not see the internal hard drive at all but saw the USB drive. Wondered what trick MS was playing to keep users meddling with the operating system!!! Finally I figured out that the MB is accessing the internal SATA drive in AHCI mode, which is new to me.

My HP Pavilion DV9200T Series notebook has the "Intel(R) 82801GBM SATA AHCI Controller (Mobile ICH7M)", which is not detected by BartPE in the latest version. I have finally had success getting it working and have streamlined the additions that BartPE requires for this device to function properly and have my hard drives detected by BartPE.
