Jul 28, 2012 · there's no dx10 in battlefield, only 11, a lot of 11 features can run on dx10 hardware, multithreaded rendering for instance, so you'll always use 11, not 10. there's a console command you can type that disables the dx11 specific features completely. It wont help, if you put the game on medium the dx11 "extra stuff" is already off.

Aug 31, 2010 · When I played BC2. I dropped to DX9. and medium settings for 60fps for best gameplay. If you want to spend 1000s for good gfx at high fps more power too you. But most people care about good gameplay. While I welcome updated DX11 features. A good PC game appeals to all PC specs. To drop dx9 support is like having a console exclusive.

Old news, but wow, who the fuck wrote that article : "but since consoles only support DX9, the implication is the PC version will be a "true" PC game." When will people get it through their heads that 1). The consoles don't use DirectX for Windows, 2). The consoles can handle extensions beyond DX9 hardware.
