BeanShell Support in Ant 1.5 and IBM Bean Scripting Framework 2.3 With version 1.5 Ant now provides explicit support for BeanShell as a pluggable scripting language via the BSF. Ironically, as of version 2.3 BSF now adds BeanShell support by registering it as one of its "well known" scripting languages.

Apache JMeter has the functionality to run Java code snippets during your test execution. BeanShell has access to internal JMeter features and any library located in your JMeter lib folder. BeanShell can be executed as a pre/postcondition or as a sampler. The only difference is that pre/post conditions will not be listed in JMeter Listeners.

When I had to store constants in binary in beanshell or java, I tended to use Integer.parseInt("01001100", 2) In general, the syntax beanshell supports is approximately that of java 1.4, with a few allowed variances. Beanshell hasn't change in nearly a decade; many people believe it was effectively abandoned by its creator.

Ant 1.5+ has explicit support for BeanShell as a BSF scripting language. The BeanShell JAR file includes the necessary BSF adapter. You must simply specify language="beanshell" in your script tags.
