Mar 30, 2012 · BF3 does not contain official support. It should be possible to map TrackIR to the in-cockpit freelook ability that you mention using TrackIR's mouse emulation utility, but if it is, you'll deal with the same restriction as you would with a mouse--you cannot control the vehicle during freelook.

Jan 08, 2014 · This thread is to bring DICE's attention to head-tracking support. As said earlier, DICE and NaturalPoint have already been talking but there is no major push from either side. Anyone with a TrackIR is encouraged to contact DICE in some way and show your support, whether you own BF4 or not (as I currently do not for a multitude of reasons)

My impression is that BF3 is the larger target for DICE to support TrackIR, but if their development team can make it happen (potentially in a patch) in BC2, they're very open to that as well.

Nov 21, 2018 · The problem was in BF3, also. It's a Frostbite config exemption. There are cfg edits on the forums, but I don't know where. I pasted the code in when I wanted to use a gamepad in BF3. Good luck with joystick support. It wont happen. There is not enough demand for it, unfortunately.

Sep 22, 2017 · People have been asking for head motion-tracking since BF2, and they've been generally ignored by DICE. Although now that more people are using it, and the technology's getting better, I think DICE would be interested in getting Track-IR.

Nov 24, 2011 · Great review, agree on nearly all points. Singleplayer could have been better, cut scenes felt very disjointed. I took longer than 6 hours, slowly working my way through, but I usually enjoy singleplayer as well.
