Maybe specs from the Bold 9900/9930? Although I do like the full QWERTY keyboard on the 9930, sometimes I'd prefer the simplicity of a wireless "phone", ie for only calls, real short text messages and occasional web surfing/app use …

1. Yes you can take the SIM card out of the Sync and put it in the Pearl. 2. Yes your texting will work just fine on the Pearl. (Picture Messaging however may or may not work, and is not guaranteed to work without a data plan). 3. No you do not need a Data plan to sync your device with your computer. All you will need is Blackberry Desktop Manager.
