From the home screen click the Menu key and select Show All Icons. This will display all icons that were previously hidden. Ensure the BBM icon is not transparent (This which would indicate that the application is hidden from the home screen). If the icon is transparent, highlight the BBM icon, click the Menu key, and select Unhide Icon.

I spent 4 hours on the phone with BlackBerry support yesterday try to load the phone icon back on the home screen. Finally had to wipe the phone. A lot of the headache of a wipe could be resolved it the Priv had BlackBerry Blend. BlackBerry did not know what to do. I was using FaceBook Messenger just before it happen.
