May 26, 2019 · fre:ac supports WMA Lossless encoding on Windows only. If you are using the macOS or Linux version, then no, WMA Lossless encoding is not available. The problem is there is no WMA Lossless encoder outside of Windows. On Windows, fre:ac uses the Microsoft implementation, but on macOS or Linux there simply is nothing that could be used.

Coolplayer doesn't support WMA anymore and probably never will from the looks of it. WMA is a proprietary format that lots of things don't support and generally shouldn't be used. If you bought DRM-protected music in WMA, even if CoolPlayer supported WMA it couldn't play it.
