Aug 25, 2006 · Thing is. I CAN boot from the Win98 CD but when I start the installationsequence it sais it can't find the CD drivers when trying to install them, and then it quits. Same thing if I just run the floppy boot disk and try to start with CD-rom support. I believe that's beacause it tryes to install drivers for a IDE driver. But I don't really know.

How to complete installation on a pcmcia 5gb hdd, it wont boot? I have a dell laptop, which has a non working drive bay, so I use a 5gb kingston pcmcia hard disk. The xp home install cd recognises it and copies files to it, only i will not boot when the system is rebooted, is there a boot disk for just booting xp?
