Apr 15, 2014 · I see the scenario for booting from USB 3.0, but it's not been done by any OEM. Take it up with them. I would like to see MSFT add support for Hyper-V via Windows Server on USB 3.0 and SD. In the end, speed is not important for the management OS disk, we care about speed on the VM storage disks.
