I have read many tutorials and searched the forums, but I still don't know how I would even connect to this vpn server if the address is 192.168.1.1 (or similar).

Although Broadcast support over PPTP VPN appears optional in the GUI, enabling it doesn't do anything. On further inspection, it does not appear bcrelay support is compiled in. Running on Build 23838: root@DD-WRT:~# bcrelay bcrelay: pptpd was compiled without support for bcrelay, exiting. run configure --with-bcrelay, make, and install.
