I had a chat with a network engineer, he said the next step should be get my Linksys WAG54GS ver 1.1 router replaced with a BT home hub, even though the Linksys is ADSL2+ compatible. I never received a BT home hub as I took the service out in 2001 when it was just a BT USB "jelly fish" to connect, and then I bought my own router a few years ago.

My broadband connection appears to be stuck on a standard ADSL profile. I am sync'd at about 5Mbps download but my upload is stuck on 448Kbps.
