BT has plans and is investing to upgrade the network over the next couple of years so that it will also work with IPV6 (known as ‘dual stack’). We expect future models of Home Hub to support IPV6 and we’re exploring updating existing Home Hubs also, alongside our network upgrade plans. Only when our network and Home Hub both support IPV6 ...

Is there any update on IPV6 support for BT Netfinity users? My router tells me that my WAN connection is set for IPV6 but the IPV6-test website indicates IPV6 not supported and that DNS4 + IP6 and DNS6 + IP6 are 'unreachable'.

BT’s Chief Network Architect, Neil McRae, has told the UK IPv6 Council that their roll-out of the Internet Protocol v6 (IPv6) addressing standard was completed for “all BT Broadband lines” in October 2016 (except IPstream connections.. so not quite “all“), provided you have a compatible router.. I've had IPv6 for a couple of years now with BT Infinity but still have to use third party DNS servers because BT's own DNS servers don't seem to support IPv6. I use a netgear router and when the DNS servers are set to automatic I only get 9/10 on the ipv6 test site. It fails on the DNS servers. ...

Mine was automatically enabled when I set the hub up but (and it is a bit of a big but for internet use) - only some of the BT IP range appears to be IPv6 enabled in my area. Typically if I get an IPv6 enabled connection, I find overnight BT reboot my hub/connection a few days later and I will get an IPv6 disabled connection instead.

Hi, I currently have a BT Home Hub 5 and I would like an IPv6 global address. As far as I can tell from reading online, the IPv6 network is fully deployed and it should be working on the Home Hub 5 …

Generally speaking the deployment of IPv6 (dynamic /56 prefix) across BT’s consumer ISP network in the UK has gone well but one key area where they still appear to be struggling is with adding support to their venerable HomeHub 5 router, which is widely installed across the customer base.
