The problem comes from the fact that musl provides wchar support (so it defines wchar_t). But when ncursesw is not available, we currently pass --disable-widechar which tells util-linux that wchar support is not available at all (not only in ncurses).

Sep 14, 2003 · Hmm I deleted the whole buildroot directory and started again with wchar on from the beginning and it worked this time.. Without the patch. Perhaps there is a problem modifying the uclibc config after the first build and running make again.
