    Another thing to consider is that the A03 BIOS which was just recently released also supports the 'Enhanced Halt State' or the C1E option in the BIOS. Where SpeedStep allows steppings of clock speeds and voltages, C1E is just a one shot deal. Factory default is turned on and my Q6600 (without load) gets lowerd to 1600MHz (6x266).

It's not easy reading for a layman, but trying to peice it together it seems that if SpeedStep is Enabled, then it becomes redundant to have C1E Support Enabled, and if C-STATE is Enabled it looks like it takes over control of C1E.

    Oct 01, 2018 · Hello, Couple a days ago I noticed coil whine near the CPU area. It can be heard in idle, a CPU based game or a CPU stress will make the sound gone. From what I've read on other forums this might be solved by disabling Intel C-State from BIOS, which i tried today but i cannot find any CPU option in BIOS. I have the latest BIOS version, 311.
