For example, if your Chromecast can't connect to your TV because of HDCP errors, connect the Chromecast to the input port of the splitter and run a different HDMI cable from the output port of the splitter into your TV's HDMI slot.

Apr 16, 2012 · It's a recent change implemented by HBO's networks. They're now enforcing "HDCP Copy Protection" over the HDMI/DVI interface. If your TV does not properly support HDCP, you'll get this message. You have a couple of options .... Use Component Video connection instead of HDMI; Get a newer HDTV that properly supports HDCP copy protection

Jan 30, 2007 · It means you TV doesn't support HDCP, or High-bandwidth Digital Content Protection. Your cable box won't output a signal because without HDCP the signal could be copied, to a DVD or other recording device. Basically, its yet another way for the media outlets to control what you do with your media. Theres not really a fix for this.
