Jan 07, 2013 · I came across many YouTube videos telling me that it is possible to save movies/video clips on to an external hard drive and view them on a PS3 if the file system is FAT32. I had a spare 2TB external hard drive so i thought i would give this a go however when i went to format it, the only other option apart from NTFS (Which apparently doesn't work) is exFAT.

Since modern OS and the PS4 uses EXFAT format system I wonder if it is possible to make it compatible with the ps3 At least with Multiman/webman Since many people have both ps3 and ps4, it would be interresting to use an external HDD for both systems.

ShadowSkill11 7 years ago#6. Instructions for replacing the hard drive are in your PS3 instruction manual in both digital and paper forms. You can also watch a 1001 videos on youtube for how to do it as well. eXFat is not the same thing as FAT32.

May 30, 2017 · Formatting PS3 external hard drive is pretty much the same as Formatting External Hard Drive for PS4. Remember, unlike with PS4 where you can format your drive in FAT32 or exFAT when formatting drive for PS3 you only can choose FAT32.
