Apr 20, 2016 · All of the NT releases (well, almost all) on the FTP only have the CD itself, but no bootdisks. So to create bootdisks from the CD, I need an MS-DOS bootdisk with CD-ROM support. Up to now I simply used the Windows 98 bootdisk for it because it conveniently provides me with CD-ROM support so I can do whatever I need.

Please keep in mind that DOS USB CDrom/HDD/zip/etc. drivers is a brand new and developing area so there is no one single method that is guaranteed to work on every PC. If you try a few methods and have no luck, keep at it and dont worry as I'm confident there is enough information here to get at least 99% of the USB drives to work in dos.

Re: Dos cdrom drivers If you use a W98 Boot Disk and select Start your computer with CDROM Support, AND the CDROM is in the media Bay with the Floppy Drive on a Parallel Port cable for the Floppy Drive only, so that both are in use together, the boot disk puts in generic drivers for the CDROM and boots it for your W98/ME install.
