May 12, 2006 · I don't think, that you have to install i586 together with a Xeon system. Remember: i586 is the class for Pentium I architecture, i686 is the class for Pentium Pro, Pentium II and above. Not sure, but I guess that Xeon belongs to the i686 tree.
