Sep 13, 2009 · Boot from the Snow Leopard Install disk, select Disk Utility, and partition the drive. Create a new single partition of the entire drive or however many other smaller partitions you'll need. I only use one. When finished, quit Disk Utility and you'll be returned to the Installer where the only option is a new install of Snow Leopard.

Feb 01, 2013 · I have a Mac Mini medio 2007 which is giving me trouble clean installing Snow Leopard. It previous ran Lion but now I want a Clean install of Snow Leopard. I boot up on the disk and format the hard drive in disk utility. I'm verifying the disk and it says everything is okay.

My white Intel iMac came with Tiger. It has never been touched by Leopard (10.5.x) in any form. Not once, ever. I installed Snow Leopard 10.6 onto a spare partition with nothing else on it.

Jul 07, 2011 · I upgraded from Snow Leopard without changing any install settings and it just did a regular upgrade, no apps or files were deleted. BTW, a "Clean Install" won't touch your files either -- it just moves the old system files ("System" folder, etc.) into a "Previous System" folder and then installs all the system files from a clean slate.
