Hi, I have had a colostomy for 10 years. Originally I opted for an elective colostomy to help me with severe UC with complete anal sphincter incontinence. Multiple surgeries to correct my incontinence without success. After 2 years with the colostomy, I developed a large stomal hernia and regretted my decision to get the colostomy.
