Each Community Support Advisory Council consists of a fifteen member body formed using the criteria determined by the Illinois Department of Corrections; council members are volunteers and represent various sectors within the community. Each CSAC employs staff to carry out the goals and objectives of the council.

What is this service? The Board of Supervisors has authorized eleven community advisory councils comprised of residents who volunteer their time to represent their community's interests within the County planning process. The Department of Planning & Building assigns a staff liaison to each community advisory council, who serves as a contact between the community and the Department.
