cups 2.2.2-1ubuntu1 depends on ghostscript, however if I understood correctly ghostscript is a PDF/PS interpreter that is required the we send a PDF/PS to CUPS but the printer doesn't support neither of this formats. Mar 21, 2013 · I have tryed to compile Ghostscript 8.61 with COMPILE_INITS=1 but the option is ignored. The resulting exe-dll needs lib files. Infact if I run the exe on a machine without gs installed, I get this error: Can't find initialization file gs_init.ps. I have changed the value of COMPILE_INITS in msvc32.mak with no success.
