I'm trying to use a settings file to store the user preferences when he/she logins on the application. I defined them as user (scope) but I am getting . Mar 04, 2009 · I have found the solution. I only had to change "Settings.settings" in Common.dll properties from "user" to "application", and then it works :) Thanks

I've been reading about this, and I've tried to remove all the user-related configuration in the web.config. Also I've added the System.Configuration as a reference, as it puts here. What can I do? However, I DON'T WANT to do this because if it's Application scope, then the 3rd party developers cannot modify the ConnectionString.

The one with the problem is an 1.1 upgraded, the one that works a native 2.0. I cannot find differences :
