Jul 16, 2009 · The taskbar network connection icon no longer shows "connected" when I use my dial-up connection at home. It does, however, show "connected" when I'm connected via wireless at the library. The Control Panel / Network and Sharing Center also shows as not connected to the internet, but the Connect to a Network options from the Start Menu show it as indeed connected.
