Aug 29, 2007 · After hunting for a different answer, I found the answer to this. You can get to control panel by using Start->Windows Explorer. If you drill down to Control panel and select "Power options" and pick any power scheme other than the default, cool n' quiet will start working (my machine dropped to 1V and 1000Mhz immediately.

It should say amd processor rather than generic processor. The driver name should have amd in it (amdk8.sys) and not just processor.sys or something generic. For mobile processors the correct name is PowerNow! not Cool 'n Quiet although I cannot recall if the zv5000z actually uses a mobile processor or a desktop processor. I believe it is mobile.

So I downloaded the Windows XP x64 version of Cool 'n Quiet from my Mother Board support site. I then ran it as an Admin in XP compatability mode. Sucess! The Processor management option is now available. Still don't know if it works but at least that should get some people started.
