Jul 19, 2007 · Cool-n-Quiet does not work on my S939 Sempron 3400+, I did try installing it but the CPU frequency never changes. The AMD dashboard software installed OK, but will not run, so I've come to the conclusion that the sempron I have does not support Cool-n-Quiet.

Mar 12, 2016 · I suspect the AMD Cool n Quiet was causing instability on your Motherboard, as it lowers the CPU frequency and voltage. Usually this does not cause problems, but it can on certain Motherboards. If you are feeling brave you could try enabling C6 Power Saving State, if problems return then you can simply disable it again. Now, enjoy your system.Reviews: 27

Just installed sp3 on a sempron 3100 system. All fine except that the AMD dashboard now shows cpu at 100% power all the time, even at idle, and the core temp would indicate that this is correct. Has sp3 replaced the processor driver? and if so why and is there a compatible driver for sempron/athlon that does support cool n quiet? Thanks in advance.

May 08, 2013 · This driver is just not on AMD's site anymore (at least I couldn't find it) (again, this is NOT the Cool'n'Quiet driver, this is a standalone AMD CPU Driver for power management that was mandatory for Windows XP but is built-in into Windows 7.
