Intel first-gen Core2 (merom/conroe from 2006) has SSSE3. AMD PhenomII (k10) is the most recent microarchitecture to not have SSE3 / SSSE3. If you're doing runtime CPU detection to enable vectorized functions, you might not bother hand-writing an SSE2 version with intrinsics, maybe only an SSSE3 and an AVX version, for example.

Dec 28, 2018 · I follow the documentation as written in Intel C++ Compiler 19.0 Developer Guide and Reference: Compiler Option arch. Compiler Option Qax. What I expect the code to do is work on any CPU with SSE3 (Be Intel / AMD or any other x86-x64 with SSE3 support). If the CPU has AVX2 support as well here will be an optimized code path fro that as well.

Mar 15, 2006 · I'm thinking of upgrading my current 3400+ (the rare 939 version) to a dual core opty 165 or X2 4400+. However I need to know if either of these processors support SSE2. The reason is I want to upgrade to Adobe Premire Pro 2.0 and the specs say you need SSE2. Is there some sort of table that tells which CPU's support which version of SSE. Thanks.
