Jan 16, 2016 · CrashPlan does not support UNC, so using a UNC path or an IP address is not possible. The drive must be mounted to the filesystem in order for CrashPlan to read it. There are a few different unsupported workarounds, like the one previously linked, which can allow users to back up to or from mapped drives on Windows.

Mar 12, 2010 · CrashPlan doesn’t support backing up from a network share – either mapped drive or UNC path. There is a work around on the CrashPlan site which works but is a little convoluted so wanted to post a nice, quick version here.
