Mar 06, 2011 · Get the quad. I have a 2011 17" and I couldn't get CS4 to use all of the cores -- right now -- but maybe that has been improved in CS5. I ran a test for you with CS4 and a CPU core monitor so I could see if it took advantage of the horsepower available. First, it was tough to stress this machine out.
