    May 05, 2009 · By default CUDA has double support disabled, this entails that all doubles are silently converted into floats inside kernels and any double precision calculations computed are incorrect. To enable the use of doubles inside CUDA kernels you first need to make sure you have a CUDA Compute 1.3-capable card.

    Compounding the weirdness, Tesla K10s have Ge Force-level double-precision support. And most recently, this got thrown into complete disarray by the introduction of the Ge Force GTX Titan, which has full double-precision support and many CUDA features only present on Tesla models up to now. A GTX Titan costs ~$1,000 - a screaming bargain IMO.
